The opposition has continued its protest yet another night with protestors gathering near the opposition party office.

Protestors have been calling for the release of the Former President and Opposition leader Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. Police have now blocked protestors from gathering in front of the office

A massive police force was deployed to disperse the protesters tonight. So far, 11 people have been arrested in connection with the protest.

Despite the following use of excessive, President Solih stated that he would provide freedom of expression and that his administration would be open. He repeated the following once again during a rally last Thursday.

The opposition has disclosed that, despite the president's claim, more than 70 persons have been detained in connection with protests by the opposition over the last two weeks.
