India donates 14-seater van to strengthen Maldives Immigration services

The Government of India has donated a 14-seater van to Maldives Immigration to enhance its operational capacity and support day-to-day services.

The vehicle was formally handed over by the High Commissioner of India to the Maldives, Shri Gopal Baglay, to the Controller General of Immigration, CP (Retd) Ahmed Faseeh, during a ceremony held earlier this week.

Expressing appreciation for the gesture, Maldives Immigration described the donation as a valuable contribution that would improve service delivery and institutional efficiency.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the people and Government of India for this generous gift,

the authority stated on a post shared on 'X' today

The initiative highlights the enduring cooperation between the two nations in areas ranging from infrastructure and healthcare to security and governance.

India has remained one of the Maldives’ key development partners, consistently extending support through various capacity-building efforts.
