COVID-19 cases rise in the Maldives
Health Protection Agency (HPA) has urged people to take extra care as COVID-19 infections spread throughout the Maldives.
In a press release, HPA urged individuals to exercise caution since COVID-19 is spreading more widely. Flu and fever cases are on the rise across the nation. In September, 185 cases were reported, as opposed to 328 in October. HPA advised everyone to constantly exercise caution in order to safeguard themselves, their families, and society.
According to HPA, some crucial preventative measures for the flu and COVID-19 include testing, donning a mask to cover one's mouth and nose, keeping one's distance from other people in crowded areas, thoroughly washing one's hands with soap or sanitizer, avoiding crowded places if one is showing any signs of the illness, and receiving the full course of vaccination and a booster dose for those who are COVID-19 vaccine age.
HPA has stated that the country is experiencing a weekly increase in cases. During the first week of October, 19 individuals had positive tests. In the first week of November, there were 43 new cases added to the total. In the first week of November, there were 45 confirmed cases from resorts, industrial islands, and liveaboards, bringing the nation's total to 185,454 cases. So far, the COVID-19 outbreak has been linked to 309 deaths in the Maldives.
