President Dr. Muizzu meets King Charles to deepen bilateral cooperation

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu was held in an audience by His Majesty King Charles III at Windsor Castle as part of his official visit to the United Kingdom.

The high-level meeting, which took place at the historic royal residence,  a photograph of which, was shared on The Royal Family’s official ‘X’ account. 

According to the President’s Office, the leaders discussed enhancing the longstanding bilateral relationship between the Maldives and the UK.

President Dr. Muizzu is currently in the UK to participate in a series of high-level meetings aimed at deepening cooperation across a range of key sectors. 

The agenda includes discussions on good governance, environmental and climate action, trade, development, and education.

The President is accompanied by a senior delegation and is also scheduled to attend a business forum in London to explore opportunities for economic engagement.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and the United Kingdom, officially established on 26 July 1965. 

The President’s visit is seen as a significant step in reinforcing the strong diplomatic ties founded on mutual respect and shared values.
