18-year-old dies after fall from Vinares tower
An 18-year-old man has died after falling from Vinares Tower Eight in Hulhumalé Phase II this evening.
Maldives Police Service confirmed that the young man was taken to hospital following the incident, but was later pronounced dead while receiving treatment.
Police officers were on the scene promptly, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fall, which remains unclear at this stage.
The incident occurred near the Vinares Café, where several bystanders witnessed the incident.
I was in the Vinares Cafe when I heard a voice. He fell on the dirt, if he had fallen onto the pavement stones, he was highly likely to die on the spot,

The area where the man landed reportedly had no pavement stones laid, with one observer noting that the young man fell directly onto exposed dirt.
Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances leading to the fall.
