Former Secretary General of the Maldivian Democratic Party, Anas Abdul Sattar has been appointed as the party's new spokesperson. 

The party announced his appointment on Thursday.

Anas is currently also serving as a minister of state for the Ministry of Finance. Anas has also contested for the post of Male City’s Mayor in the last local elections. 

The newly appointed spokesperson has attained his Bachelor of Law from the International Islamic University of Pakistan.
