Chinese Ambassador Wang Lixin pays courtesy call to president Dr Muizzu

The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Maldives,  Wang Lixin, paid a courtesy visit to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu at the Official Residence of the President, Mulee'aage, yesterday afternoon.

During the meeting, Ambassador Wang Lixin presented a congratulatory letter from President Xi Jinping of China to President Dr. Muizzu on the occasion of his birthday.

In his letter, President Xi Jinping conveyed his sincere greetings and best wishes to President Dr. Muizzu. He highlighted the significance of China-Maldives relations and reiterated his commitment to enhancing the China-Maldives Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and building a community with a shared future between the two nations.

President Dr. Muizzu expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Wang Lixin for delivering the letter personally and shared his pleasure in receiving it.

He also mentioned that he had sent a congratulatory message to President Xi Jinping, who celebrates his birthday on the same day.

The meeting also covered discussions on enhancing collaboration and strengthening bilateral relations between the Maldives and China.

They talked about future agreements and joint development initiatives. Ambassador Wang Lixin affirmed China's commitment to supporting the Maldives' economic development and sought information on areas where the Maldivian Government requires further assistance.

The meeting concluded with both President Dr. Muizzu and Ambassador Wang Lixin expressing optimism for a prosperous and successful bilateral relationship in the future.
