In a press conference held today at the President's Office, Heena Waleed, Chief Spokesperson at the President's Office, declared the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) in Antigua and Barbuda a tremendous success.

Chief Spokesperson Waleed highlighted that during SIDS4, the President addressed several key issues pertinent to the Maldivian people.

She emphasized the President's strong support for efforts to combat climate change and tackle the challenges faced by SIDS.

Additionally, Heena noted the President's meetings with various Heads of State and leaders of several countries on the sidelines of the conference

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu met with Lord Richard Benyon, the UK Minister of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs, and the Department of Environment; Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Tonga, Siaosi 'Ofakivahafolau Sovaleni; Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne; and the Rt. Hon. Patricia Scotland KC, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth.

She also responded to other questions from the press.

Held every decade by the United Nations, the SIDS4 conference brings together the international community to discuss and address the unique challenges faced by Small Island Developing States.
