Former President Abdulla Yameen has stated that he will not support any efforts to overthrow President Dr. Muizzu's government without valid grounds.

Speaking to the media last night following the overturning of his 11-year conviction in the Aarah case and the order for a retrial after appeal, Yameen clarified that his new political party, the PNF, does not endorse calls from some members to overthrow the current administration without a legitimate basis.

He emphasized that the party will not endorse agendas driven by emotion rather than substance.

I'm saying that efforts to overthrow President Dr. Muizzu without any basis, we won't take part in it

stated  Yameen

However, he indicated that if there were significant issues prompting such efforts, he would consider them.

Yameen questioned why major cases against President Dr. Muizzu in the ACC were not being investigated, citing leaked intelligence reports alleging significant corruption during Muizzu's tenure as a minister in Yameen's administration.

He raised concerns about the lack of action by the MMA and Police in investigating these allegations, noting that during his presidency, such matters would have been thoroughly investigated but he stated that he did not receive information about any such cases about President Dr. Muizzu during his tenure.

For sure, when I was the president, none of this came to my table or my ears,

 Yameen affirmed
