Maldives sets sight on hosting ITB fair 2026
The Ministry of Tourism has revealed its intention for the Maldives to host the ITB Berlin Fair in 2026.
Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal, speaking at a press conference following the conclusion of this year's ITB Fair, emphasized the Maldives' status as a beloved tourist destination and its ambition to host the world's largest tourism fair in the near future.

The event, traditionally held in Berlin, rotates among different countries for hosting duties.
The most recent host was Oman.
Hosting the ITB Fair offers countries the chance to organize the opening ceremony and other associated events.
The Maldives last hosted the ITB Fair in 2016.
