The Tourism Ministry has officially launched the 'Addu Asseyri Tourism Development Plan.'

This initiative falls under the administration's 'Hafuthaa 14' roadmap and reflects the government's commitment to a specialized tourism project for Addu City within its first 100 days.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the Addu City Council on Thursday, with Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal and Addu City Mayor Ali Nizar in attendance.

The plan, developed by CDC Consulting, presents a comprehensive five-year destination development strategy coupled with a detailed situational analysis report.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's vision is clearly embedded in this strategic plan, aiming not only to boost tourism in the region but also to make a substantial contribution to Addu City's local economy.

The blueprint encompasses key presidential pledges, including the establishment of 6000 tourist beds, the creation of 10000 jobs, the revitalization of Shangri-La operations, and the establishment of a seaplane hub within the first year.

The holistic approach of the plan is evident in its diverse developments, such as the creation of a cultural village, wellness zones, marine protected areas, and a hospitality school.

These initiatives not only seek to attract visitors but also aim to showcase the rich heritage and natural beauty of Addu City, providing a unique and immersive experience for tourists and locals alike.

The plan's focus on sustainable growth and community development sets a new standard for tourism initiatives.
With promises of a bright and prosperous future, the 'Addu Asseyri Tourism

Development Plan' positions Addu City as a thriving tourism hub, offering unparalleled opportunities for growth and prosperity.

As the project unfolds, it is expected to bring transformative changes to the landscape of Addu City, solidifying its position as a premier destination for both domestic and international travelers.

The unveiling of this ambitious plan marks a pivotal moment in the journey towards a vibrant and sustainable tourism industry in the Maldives.
