The Jumhooree Party (JP) Council on Saturday made a decision to refrain from endorsing any candidate in the second round of the 2023 presidential election.

The council's decision comes at a time when the president's campaign team has been working to form a coalition with JP.

According to a tweet from senior JP council member, the parties council has decided not support any candidate during the second rounds of polling. 

While the party is yet to reveal the reason behind the decision, both candidates contesting in the second round of the presidential election have met with Qasim Ibrahim to work together in the second round of the presidential election.
