The Presidential candidate for Jumhoree Party (JP), as well as the party's leader, Qasim Ibrahim, has stated that he would increase the senior citizens (65 years and older citizens) allowance to 7000 in JP's presidency.

Qasim stated as such  in the ceremony held last night to hand over JP's presidential ticket to him.

He highlighted over the manifesto produced by JP stating that one of the areas the manifesto is devoted to is senior citizens. And that if he wins presidency he would increase their allowance to 7000 Rufiyaa.

Qasim asserted that he will not be a person who shows empty dreams to citizens.

He also revealed that in addition to senior citizens, the manifesto also included bringing about good changes to the health sector.

For instance, he stated that he would bring an end to having to stand in a queue or a waiting list unable to consult with a specialist doctor. And that he would introduce a referral system where you can consult with specialist doctors within a maximum of 7 days.

Qasim further stated that he would decrease the waste of Aasandha fund, and change it to an honest system where citizens do not have to beg for medical treatment.

Moreover, he highlighted that there are other several important things for citizens, in addition to what has been announced in the ceremony, included in JP's manifesto.

Hence, Qasim asked for the citizens to trust JP and vote for him in order to fulfill these pledges.
