Bank of Maldives (BML) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives), aimed at strengthening the accounting and auditing profession in the country.

Through this partnership, the two institutions will work together on knowledge-sharing, regulatory development, and capacity-building initiatives.

The collaboration is expected to raise professional standards while fostering the growth of the financial sector and the broader Maldivian economy.

Speaking at the signing, BML’s CEO and Managing Director, Mohamed Shareef, described the agreement as a milestone for the profession.

This partnership marks a significant step in enhancing professional standards in accounting and finance across the country. By working closely with CA Maldives, we aim to build capacity, promote best practices, and contribute to the overall development of the financial sector and economy of the Maldives

The partnership also builds on previous collaborations between the two institutions, including last year’s Maldives Accountants Forum, which provided a platform for professionals to share knowledge and engage with industry stakeholders.

BML affirmed that it will continue to pursue initiatives and partnerships that support individuals, businesses, and communities nationwide.
