Shoaib Ma appointed ambassador for Maldives Islamic Tourism
Maldives Islamic Tourism has appointed renowned Chinese Muslim influencer Shoaib Ma as its first-ever ambassador, marking a milestone in the promotion of Islamic tourism in the country.
The appointment ceremony was held on Saturday night at the Convention Centre in Ukulhas, attended by government representatives, community leaders, and industry stakeholders.
The ambassadorship was formally conferred by MP for Thoddoo Constituency Hussain Sameer and Ukulhas Council President Shaukath Ibrahim, alongside Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) Board Member Abdul Sameeu Imad and Maldives Islamic Tourism Chairman Ahmed Faisal.
Shoaib, who commands nearly a million followers on TikTok under the name “Halfari” with the slogan “Halal Global Tour,” has built a strong reputation for promoting halal travel, Muslim culture, and halal food experiences across China and beyond.
His work focuses on connecting Muslim travelers to authentic cultural experiences, a vision that aligns with the Maldives’ growing Islamic tourism initiatives.
He emphasized his commitment to bringing more Muslim travelers, particularly from China, to the Maldives.
