Varu has won against Oaga with a score of 3-4, in the second match of Group A, of the largest sports event in the Maldives tourism industry, Resort League 2023.

In the match where a fierce play was seen by both teams, the first goal was scored in the third minute of first half by team Varu's player Hussain Ali. Two minutes later another goal was scored by Varu’s player Ahmed Zameem.

Oaga scored their first goal 17 minutes into the match, by the team’s player Mukhthaaru. Just a minute later Sabah Saeed scored a goal for Varu placing the team ahead of Oaga and ending the first half with a score of 1-3.

With the start of the second half, Mohamed Maishaan of team Oaga scored a goal in just the first minute, reducing the differences in score. And in the last two minutes of the match Mohamed Irash scored an additional goal for Oaga evening out the scores.

The final, deciding goal was made in the last minute of the match by Ali Misbaah of team Varu, ending the match with a score of 3-4.

Goalkeeper for Varu, Hassan Munaaz was selected as the Man of The Match.

17 teams participated and were divided into 4 groups in this year's Resort League’s North Male’ zone. The teams that earns the best results from each group will secure a place in the quarterfinals.
