Al-fadil Mohamed Khaleel, the Maldivian Representative for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Maldivian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, actively engaged in the convened open-ended emergency meeting held by the Executive Committee of the OIC's principal institutions.

The meeting focused on addressing the persistent assaults targeting the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israel.

Ambassador Khaleel vehemently denounced the actions, emphasizing their direct contravention of the regulations and rules established by the United Nations. He emphasized that these actions also run counter to commonly accepted parliamentary norms.

Ambassador Khaleel expressed unequivocal condemnation of such actions and called for an immediate cessation of Israel's unwarranted attacks on Gaza, which he deemed as unjust and in violation of international principles.

In addition, Ambassador Khaleel emphasized the unwavering support of the Maldivian government and its citizens for Palestine. He asserted that Israel ought to retreat to its pre-1967 borders and refrain from encroaching upon the territories of Palestine.

Ambassador Khaleel called for the recognition and establishment of a sovereign and independent Palestinian state, allowing Palestine to exercise its right to self-determination.
