The Maldives Immigration has detained three foreign nationals during a special operation conducted in Hulhumalé on Wednesday night, as part of ongoing efforts to address illegal immigration.

According to a post on X by the Immigration Department, the individuals were taken into custody after they were found residing in the area without valid documentation.

The arrests were made by the Immigration Task Force, which has been actively carrying out enforcement operations across the country in coordination with other government agencies.

Authorities noted that this operation is part of a wider crackdown on undocumented migrants in the Maldives.

Earlier this year, Immigration reported that over 5,000 illegal immigrants have been deported since the beginning of operation.

The agency reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring immigration laws are upheld and said such operations will continue.
