A fire has broken out at the longstanding Evening Café in Male' City. 

According to the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), the fire was reported today evening at 6:10 in the restaurant's kitchen where the fire started. 

The fire was put out around 7:20 pm by MNDF's Fire and Rescue team. 

Evening Café is located in a densely residential area. Residents around the area were evacuated. Additionally, some people had been taken to the hospital due to smoke inhalation.

The longstanding cafe in Orchid Magu has been operated and managed by Indians for years.
