The official reserves of the government climbed to US$827.7 million after the previous year. 

Official reserves in November 2022 totalled US$ 604.2 million based on the data provided by the Central Bank - Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA). However, at the end of December reserves had risen by US$827.7 million from US$223.5 million. 

The official reserves were predicted to contain $657.3 million at the end of 2022. The amount in the reserves after the year was US$ 170.4 higher than anticipated. 

Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer provided assurances that the state reserve would reach an anticipated level by year's end.
