The initiative underscores STELCO's commitment to enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability across the Maldives and follows Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer's meeting with USAID Administrator Samantha Power yesterday, as part of his official visit to the United States.
USAID is a separate agency within the U.S. government tasked mainly with overseeing civilian foreign aid and development assistance.
Over time, the United States has collaborated with the Maldivian government through USAID, focusing on initiatives to preserve the environment, enhance democratic governance, and bolster public financial management.
