The Parliament's Judiciary Committee has resolved to summon Prosecutor General (PG) Hussain Shameem following a request from his office to discuss the committee's perspectives on the country's criminal justice system.

Chaired by MP Husnee Mubarik of the Manadhoo constituency, the committee received a written request from the Prosecutor General’s Office seeking to exchange information and understand the committee's viewpoint on the criminal justice system over the next five years.

The request aims to gather insights on how the Prosecutor General's Office can enhance the criminal justice system.

Shameem expressed his intention to understand the committee's stance and the current state of the criminal justice system, emphasizing the value of this information.

The committee welcomed the initiative by the Prosecutor General’s Office and unanimously agreed to engage in this discussion and summon PG Shameem.
