The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has addressed circulating rumors on social media, confirming that the military personnel seen in Addu are not from India but are Sri Lankan instructors.

The video in question led to speculation about the continued presence of Indian military personnel in the region.

According to the MNDF, the Sri Lankan military officers are in the Maldives to conduct Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) training.

This clarification aligns with a presidential pledge, which ensured that the last contingent of Indian military officials departed from the Maldives before May 10.

The MNDF's statement aims to dispel any misunderstandings and reassure the public about the true nature of the military presence in Addu.
