Fathimath Thaufeeq, also known as Kudy, has been dismissed from her position as the Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).

The dismissal has been confirmed by Voice, although the exact reasons remain undisclosed.

Fathimath Thaufeeq, who holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, was appointed as Managing Director on December 18 of last year.

Her dismissal follows a period of reported discord between her and the MMPRC board of directors.

These disagreements reportedly centered around decisions regarding the company's expenses for various planned activities.

In a related development, MMPRC Chairperson Aisha Nurain Janah resigned from her post the day before Thaufeeq's dismissal.

Reports suggest that there were extensive differences of opinion between Fathimath Thaufeeq and the board, contributing to the internal strife.

Additionally, Rafil Mohamed, the Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) representative on the MMPRC board, resigned last month, further indicating ongoing turmoil within the corporation's leadership.

The leadership shakeup at MMPRC points to significant underlying issues within the organization, although details remain sparse at this time.
