Maldives engages in discussions with VC of Yunnan Provincial People's Congress on strengthening economic ties

In a recent development, Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed, welcomed H.E. Li Xiaosan, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Yunnan Provincial People’s Congress, to the Maldives for a series of discussions aimed at enhancing trade and investment relations yesterday.

During the meeting held in Ministry of Economic development, Minister Saeed highlighted the strong bilateral relations between the Maldives and Yunnan Province.

The discussions focused on exploring new opportunities for collaboration, particularly in the area of sports, with specific emphasis on introducing table tennis teaching programs through the Yunnan Kunming Fair.

Minister Saeed expressed his optimism that Li Xiaosan's visit would further solidify the bilateral ties and pave the way for new business and economic opportunities for both regions.

He extended his gratitude to Li Xiaosan and his delegation for their visit, noting that the friendly relations between China and the Maldives have matured into a robust economic partnership.

This visit marks another step forward in the Maldives' efforts to foster closer economic and cultural ties with China, reflecting the growing importance of this bilateral relationship in promoting mutual growth and prosperity.
