In a heartfelt message on social media platform X, President Muizzu expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic helicopter crash that resulted in the untimely death of Iran’s President Dr. Seyed Ebrahim Raisi.

The accident occurred amid poor weather conditions in the mountainous forest area of Dizmar near the town of Varzaghan.

State media reported that President Raisi was in the province to inaugurate a dam project alongside his Azeri counterpart, Ilham Aliev.

The convoy included three helicopters, two of which reached their destinations safely.

However, the helicopter carrying President Raisi faced tragic circumstances, leading to this grievous incident.

Rescue operations faced challenges due to the difficult weather, but the crash site was located after an intense, hours-long search.
