However, this figure reflects a notable decline of 14% compared to February 2024, where bed occupancy reached 83.7%.

In March, a total of 843 guest houses, 175 resorts, 15 hotels, and 147 safaris were in operation, accommodating a combined total of 61,952 beds.

Among these, resorts experienced the lowest bed occupancy, witnessing a significant decrease of 16.7% compared to February 2024.

Hotels also saw a decline in bed occupancy, dropping from 39.1% in February to 28.7% in March, marking a decrease of 10.4%.

However, safaris experienced a slight increase in bed occupancy, rising from 39.9% in February to 43.2% in March.

The data underscores the critical role of bed occupancy in determining overall tourism occupancy, with decreases in bed occupancy directly impacting tourism figures.
