No foreign troops to Aid Maldives in drone operations: President

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has declared today that the Maldives has no intention of hosting foreign troops to aid in the operation of military drones currently employed for surveillance within the country's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

In an interactive session on the government's social media platform, 'Raees ge javaabu', President Muizzu responded to queries from the public, addressing concerns about the involvement of foreign military personnel in ocean surveillance or drone operations.

President Muizzu firmly rejected any proposal to allow foreign military presence in the Maldives, affirming that only Maldivian personnel will be engaged in drone operations.

He underscored the country's commitment to independent surveillance efforts.

The Maldives remains resolute in its decision to maintain full control over drone operations, with no involvement of foreign military personnel

President Affirmed 

The President revealed that Maldivian National Defence Force (MNDF) teams have undergone specialized drone operation training in Turkey, with plans for additional training in the future.

President Muizzu reiterated the government's stance, emphasizing that foreign troops will not be stationed in the Maldives to provide assistance or operate drones.
