President announces construction of 100-Bed Tertiary Hospital in Villimale'

During a session of 'Raees ge Javaabu' yesterday, President Mohamed Muizzu revealed plans to initiate the construction of a 100-bed tertiary hospital in Villimale'.

The President addressed concerns raised by citizens regarding inadequate healthcare facilities in Villimale, particularly the limitations of Villimale' Hospital in providing comprehensive care and handling emergency cases.

Responding to queries from Male' city resident Ahmed Shifan, who highlighted the shortcomings of healthcare services in Villimale', President Muizzu assured the public of his commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure on the island.

He announced that construction work on the 100-bed tertiary hospital is set to commence soon, fulfilling his pledge to enhance healthcare facilities in Villimale'.

Furthermore, President Muizzu disclosed that the project will be undertaken with the support of free aid from China.

Relevant authorities from China, alongside the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Health, are collaborating to oversee the design and technical aspects of the hospital.

Additionally, a suitable location for the hospital has been identified.

Once the preparatory work, including designing and technical assessments, is completed, physical construction will commence.

President Muizzu affirmed that the new tertiary hospital will address the healthcare needs and aspirations of Villimale' residents, ensuring access to quality medical services within the community.
