India has launched a strong anti-Maldives campaign against Maldives, but Maldives has topped the global Google search trend in the past 24 hours.

Google Trends, one of the most popular trends in the world, shows that Maldives is also leading the Google search trend even in India. According to India's search trends, Maldives  received 54 percent of the search results in the past 24 hours while Lakshadweep received 46 percent of the search results.

Three Maldivian government's deputy ministers have replied to an Indian post on X on 4th of this month with a video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the Indian island province of Lakshadweep. Due to this the situation has heated up between India and Maldives.

On the 4th of this month, the account of X, created by an Indian under the name of "Mr. Sinha", said that Modi's promotion of Lakshadweep was an important step and that Maldives now has a Chinese puppet government.

Three deputy ministers of Maldives replied to the man's post. The issue escalated when Indian film stars and sports personalities started participating in the Boycott Maldives campaign. They include many artists who have visited Maldives many times and are popular with the people of the country.

However, in the search trends of all countries except India, Lakshadweep has not received more than 40 percent of the searches in the past seven days. Maldives is also ranked above 98 percent in the Google search trend among the  most visited  countries.

Since the introduction of Google Trends, Lakshadweep has never been able to beat Maldives.

India has launched a strong anti-campaign against  Maldives while President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu is currently on his  first visit to China. During his visit, President Dr. Muizzu met with Chinese business leaders and asked them to make China the number one country in Maldives tourism market once again.
