Indian Ambassador to Maldives Munu Mahawar has been asked to appear before the Foreign Ministry.

Munu Mahawar has been ordered to appear before the Foreign Ministry has been confirmed to "Voice".

Maldives ambassador to India has also been summoned to the External Affairs Ministry of India today following tensions between the country and Maldives over the insult.

In connection with the insult to Modi, the deputy ministers involved in the case, Malsha Shareef, Maryam Shiuna and Abdullah Mahzoom Majid, were suspended yesterday.

The action on the part of the deputy ministers is not the policy of the government and it will not hesitate to remove those who do so, said the Maldivian government.
