President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has officially inaugurated 'Media Fendaa', a dedicated facility aimed at enhancing media access to government information and fostering closer collaboration between journalists and state institutions.

The inauguration ceremony was held Thursday afternoon at the Media Fendaa premises, located directly opposite the President’s Office.

Established under the President’s Office, the facility is intended to serve as a centralized hub where registered media outlets can access official updates and news from the President’s Office and other nearby government institutions.

According to President's Office, Media Fendaa will be operational on all official government working days, and can also be accessed 24/7, including public holidays upon request by authorised journalists.

Access is limited to active Maldivian media outlets, such as newspapers, broadcasters, magazines, and other entities listed in the Maldives Media Council’s registry.

Entry is granted with a special permit issued by the President’s Office.

President's Office stated that since the facility is located within a designated Green Zone, all security measures enforced by the relevant authorities will remain in effect for those accessing the premises.
