President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed condolences to Thailand following severe floods triggered by heavy rainfall, which have caused deaths, displacement, and extensive damage.

In a message to Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, President Dr. Muizzu expressed sorrow over the loss of life and the widespread impact of the flooding.

On behalf of the Maldivian government and people, he extended sympathies to the Prime Minister, the Thai government, and the people of Thailand, with particular concern for the families of those who died from drowning and electrical hazards.

The President also wished those injured a swift recovery and expressed hope that emergency response efforts would continue without interruption.

He called for affected communities to receive timely assistance as rescue and relief operations continue.

The message reflects the close ties between the Maldives and Thailand and the Maldives’ support for the Thai people during the ongoing disaster.
