Statistics of the central bank- Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has revealed that there was 789.97 million dollars in the state’s official reserve in the month of January.

According to January statistics, the amount in the official reserve of Maldives as well as the usable reserve had gone down compared to the statistics of last year December.

The amount in official reserve by the end of December was 827.72 million dollars. While usable reserve amount was 267.74 million dollars.

By the end of January, the official reserve had an amount of 789.97 million dollars while usable reserve had an amount of 253.76 million dollars.

The short term liabilities accounted to 536.21 million dollars.

It was estimated previously that at the end of last year there would be an amount of 657.3 million dollars in the official reserve. But there was an additional amount of 170.4 million in comparison to the estimated amount.

Finance ministry has estimated that there would be an amount of 606.3 million dollars by the end of this year.
