Transparency Maldives condemns Maldives Police Service actions
Transparency Maldives has condemned actions of the Maldives Police Service whilst dealing with oppositions protest yesterday.
Transparency Maldives tweeted today that they strongly condemn the continued obstruction of protests and press freedom by Maldives Police Service.
They also called out Human Rights Commission of Maldives, National Integration Commission and Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Maldives to reiterate their calls to investigate the actions of the Police and hold the institutions and personnel to account.
During oppositions protest yesterday several people including 2 journalists were injured due to Police using excessive force to disrupt the protest.
Police has expressed their concerns for the two journalists sating that they had no intentions of doing so.
