Two individuals are receiving medical treatment following a road accident involving a vehicle operated by Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) on the Malé to Hulhumalé highway.

The incident occurred while the vehicle was traveling from Hulhumalé towards the airport, when it reportedly veered off course and collided with roadside fencing along the bridge.

Images shared on social media show a small white jeep overturned at the scene of the crash.

According to the Maldives Police Service, officers were dispatched to the location shortly after the incident and are currently managing the situation.

Police confirmed that two occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries in the collision and were taken to hospital for treatment.
