Maldives cruise to 7–1 win over Pakistan at SAFF Futsal Championship

The Maldives National Men’s Futsal Team delivered a commanding performance against Pakistan, securing a 7–1 victory at the ongoing SAFF Futsal Championship in Thailand.

The Maldivian side took control of the match from the outset, scoring five goals in the first half to establish an unassailable lead.

Ali Hameed opened the scoring, setting the tone for a dominant display.

Further goals for the Maldives came from Ali Shiyah, captain Mohamed Imran, goalkeeper Zaidhan Ahmed, Ali Shamal Abdulla, and Abdulla Shafiu, reflecting a strong all-round team effort.

Goalkeeper Zaidhan Ahmed was a standout performer, not only contributing to the scoreline but also producing a series of crucial saves to deny Pakistan on multiple occasions.

Pakistan managed to pull one goal back in the second half through Nisar Hussain, but the Maldives maintained control for the remainder of the match to comfortably see out the win.

The Maldives are set to face Bangladesh in their next fixture of the tournament.

In another match at the championship, the opening encounter between India and Bangladesh ended in a draw.
