Maldives branding gains global spotlight as Liverpool sets fastest goal record
Maldives’ destination branding once again took center stage at Anfield Stadium as Liverpool FC registered the fastest goal of the ongoing 2024/2025 English Premier League season.
The milestone was achieved during Liverpool’s Premier League fixture against Brighton, when forward Hugo Ekitike found the back of the net just 46 seconds after kickoff.
The historic moment coincided with Visit Maldives’ branding being prominently displayed across Anfield’s LED perimeter boards and digital screens.
The visibility forms part of the “Destination Partnership” between Visit Maldives and Liverpool Football Club, under which Maldives branding is showcased throughout every home match played at Anfield.
The partnership ensures consistent global exposure for the Maldives during high-profile Premier League broadcasts.
Notably, this is not the first time Maldives branding has aligned with a landmark moment for the club. Earlier in the 2024/2025 season, the branding was also visible across the stadium at the exact moment Liverpool scored their winning goal.
According to Visit Maldives, the collaboration with Liverpool FC is designed to elevate international awareness of the Maldives’ diverse tourism offerings, including its luxury resorts and unique travel experiences.
As part of this initiative, the corporation continues to implement creative advertising campaigns through Anfield’s LED boards, including a recent promotion displayed in ten different languages.
Visit Maldives further noted that the partnership provides extensive promotional opportunities through stadium advertising, global television coverage, and Liverpool FC’s social media platforms.
With Premier League matches broadcast to audiences in more than 180 countries, the initiative aims to significantly enhance the Maldives’ global visibility and strengthen its reputation as a leading luxury travel destination.
