Jumhooree Party (JP) general members and activists have launched a presidential campaign to bring Jumhooree party leader Qasim Ibrahim to power.

Jumhooree Party council members have begun seeking support for JP leader Gasim Ibrahim for the upcoming Presidential Election, which is scheduled to take place on September 8. The party's council members have been tweeting with the hashtag 'Qasim2023' and 'Hope for the Nation'.

However, neither he nor the party has officially announced that he will contest the elections.

JP is the third-largest political party in the Maldives with around 18,000 members. The party's decisions regarding the President Election will be taken by the party's council during the next national council meeting. 

Gasim has several times run to become the President of the Maldives and failed to win any of his attempts to become President.
