Four undocumented foreign workers detained in Hulhumalé
Four foreign nationals were detained by the Maldives Immigration Department during a special operation targeting undocumented workers in the city of Hulhumalé.
According to Immigration officials, the arrests were made during a raid conducted by the department’s Task Force.
The operation involved the inspection of five cafes and takeaway establishments in the city.
Authorities confirmed that the four individuals taken into custody were found to be working without valid visas or legal documentation.
The latest operation is part of a broader national effort to identify and remove foreigners residing and working in the country without proper permits.
Maldives Immigration has been conducting similar enforcement actions in various regions, with over 7,000 undocumented foreigners deported to date under these ongoing operations.
Officials reiterated their commitment to ensuring immigration laws are upheld and stated that such operations would continue across the country.
