Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Chairperson Fayyaz Ismail has strongly condemned the recent military strikes carried out by the United States and Israel on Iranian territory, characterizing them as acts of aggression against the Iranian people.

In a statement published on X (formerly Twitter), Fayyaz expressed grave concern over the airstrikes launched by U.S.

U.S attacks on Iran’s key nuclear facilities, including Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan took place yesterday and followed Israeli attacks in the region, marking a major escalation in tensions.

There is no peace in immoral strength—only subjugation

 Fayyaz wrote

accusing the United Nations of failing in its role as a peacekeeping body.

“The UN is no longer a guardian of peace. It has become a tool of empire, providing cover for genocide and war crimes committed by powerful nations and their allies,

he said.

Fayyaz warned that the Muslim world is being reshaped through force, referencing past conflicts in Iraq, Libya, Syria, and Lebanon, and pointing to Iran as the latest target.

Iran is under siege, and perhaps Turkiye will be next

he cautioned

adding that while Muslim communities remain divided over sectarian lines, their collective futures are being determined by external powers.

Calling for a shift in global strategy, Fayyaz urged Muslim-majority countries to move away from reliance on international institutions like the UN and instead focus on building new alliances based on shared faith, principles, and common geopolitical interests.

The solution is not in appealing to the UN for justice, but in forming alliances between nations that share common values and face common threats

he asserted.

Fayyaz concluded his remarks with a strong condemnation of the attacks, stating:

Strongly condemn the aggression against Iran and the Iranian people by the United States of America and the Zionists. The world cannot have peace without peace to the Palestinians
