President Dr. Muizzu and First Lady commemorate MNDF’s anniversary parade
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed Muizzu were in attendance as the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) marked its 133rd anniversary with a ceremonial military parade and public display in Male'.
The commemoration began at Bandaara Koshi, the MNDF Headquarters, from where the parade proceeded along a designated route through Malé.
As Commander-in-Chief, President Dr. Muizzu conducted an official inspection of the troops near the President’s Office, where he was honoured with a formal Presidential salute.
The parade featured five musical performances by the MNDF band and highlighted the broad range of services provided by the armed forces.
Marching units, specialty divisions, and military vehicles were also showcased, giving the public a glimpse into the operational capabilities of the nation's defence force.
Families, including many children, gathered along the streets to witness the celebration, reflecting national pride in the military's long-standing service.
The Maldives’ military, now known as the MNDF, traces its origins back to April 21, 1892, marking over a century of national defence and service.
