Maldives Customs seize 3.3kg of illegal drugs at Male’ harbour
The Maldives Customs Service has intercepted 3.3 kilograms of illegal drugs brought into the country via sea.
The seizure took place in a special operation on Sunday, following a tip-off from intelligence sources.
The drugs were discovered at the Male’ Commercial Harbour, and the haul included 2,282 grams of cannabis and 1,038 grams of cathinone.
This latest operation comes after a similar drug bust on October 31, when Customs had previously seized 5.9 kilograms of drugs, which also included cannabis and cathinone.
The Maldives Customs Service continues to enhance its efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region, responding swiftly to intelligence reports and conducting targeted operations to intercept illicit shipments.
