India-Maldives relations set to strengthen: India’s Foreign Minister praises President Dr. Muizzu’s commitment

India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, has expressed his appreciation for President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s strong commitment to enhancing relations between India and the Maldives.

After a meeting with president Dr. Muizzu at the start of his state visit to India, Minister Jaishankar took to social media platform ‘X’ to highlight the significance of the discussions.

In his statement, Dr. Jaishankar acknowledged President Dr. Muizzu’s efforts to strengthen bilateral ties, reaffirming the shared dedication to mutual cooperation.

He further expressed confidence that President Dr. Muizzu's scheduled talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would inject new momentum into the friendly relations between the two nations.

President Muizzu's state visit to India, which takes place from October 6 to 10, 2024, is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing partnerships and fostering deeper collaboration across various sectors.
