UK-based Virgin Atlantic Airlines to begin flights to the Maldives
Virgin Atlantic, one of Britain's strongest international airlines, is all set to begin operations in the Maldives for the first time.
Virgin Atlantic, run by billionaire Richard Branson's Virgin Group and US-based Delta Airlines, said in a statement that it plans to fly to the Maldives during the winter holidays next year.
Maldives has always been a popular destination for Virgin Atlantic Holidays customers. Therefore, we have little patience to allow us to travel to that exciting place in the style of virgin Atlantic aircraft

The Airline is set to operate Boeing 787-9 aircraft for these flights.
Currently, only British Airways, the nation's flag carrier, offers direct flights between the Maldives and the United Kingdom.
The airline also operates flights to the Maldives every winter. During other seasons of the year, tickets are sold to the Maldives by codeshare partnership with Qatar Airways.
