The newly elected representatives for the three vacant seats on the Malé City Council were sworn in today.

The by-election to fill these positions was held on the 20th of last month, selecting new members for the three constituencies of the Malé City Council.

The seats in these three constituencies became vacant after the previous members were elected to the People's Majlis, all representing the ruling party, PNC.

The three people sworn in today are:

- Ali Aiman: Hulhumale’ constituent

- Fathimath Shaufa Saleem: Henveiru West constituent

- Fathimath Ishan Ali: Mahchangoalhi Central constituent

Drug Court Judge Mohammed Sameer administered the oath to the three members at a ceremony held at Maagiri.

Speaking at the ceremony, Malé City Mayor Adam Azim congratulated the three members and the PNC they represent on winning the seats.

Mayor Azim urged the councilors to assist and collaborate in shaping the city's policies, identify the needs and challenges of the constituents, present these issues to the city council, and work together to find solutions.

The Mayor added that the true satisfaction for those elected to their positions comes from knowing that many people trust in their ability and sincerity, emphasizing the importance of working diligently to uphold this trust in their new roles.
