Maldivian Airlines halts Dhaka flights amid Bangladesh unrest
Maldivian Airlines has announced the temporary suspension of its flights to Dhaka, Bangladesh, starting August 6, due to the ongoing unrest in the country.
The unrest in Bangladesh began last month with widespread protests against the civil service hiring process, which led to the government imposing a curfew to restore order.
The situation escalated further when Bangladesh's Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, resigned amid mounting protests and instability.
In light of these developments, the Maldives High Commission in Bangladesh had assured on Monday that all 119 Maldivian nationals residing in the country are safe and are being closely monitored.
Maldivian Airlines has advised passengers to stay informed about updates regarding flight operations and to contact the airline's customer service for assistance with travel arrangements.
The airline has not specified when flights might resume.
