The Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has prohibited the import and sale of three specific batches of the allergy medication Allegra.

The ban was implemented following reports from the manufacturer regarding quality issues in these batches.

Pharmacies, drug stores, and healthcare facilities holding stock from these batches are instructed to notify the MFDA immediately via email at [email protected].

The affected batches are as follows:

Generic name: Fexofenadine hydrochloride

Product name: Allegra suspension

Strength: 30mg/5ml

Manufacturer: Sanofi India Limited, India

Batch numbers: AL1223019, AL1223029, and AL1223060

This decision comes shortly after the MFDA recently banned the import and sale of various cough, cold, and flu medications.
