President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has conferred the National Award for Public Service to 138 recipients during the official Independence Day function held at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE) on Friday night.

The honored individuals, who include 30 women and 108 men, were presented with commemorative shields and badges in recognition of their outstanding contributions.

In his speech, President Dr Muizzu expressed gratitude to all award recipients, acknowledging their significant sacrifices and dedication to the country.

The National Award for Public Service celebrates the competence, integrity, and commitment of government employees who have served the state for over 35 years and made noteworthy contributions to their institutions.

This year’s recipients also include long-serving public servants who have devoted more than 45 years to state service without prior recognition.

The ceremony underscored the profound impact of these individuals' service and their role in the development of the Maldives.
