New platform 'Immigration Watch' introduced to tackle illegal immigration
In line with President Dr. Muizzu's vision, the Maldives has launched "Immigration Watch," a new platform for reporting illegal immigrants and other immigration-related issues.
The platform was unveiled by the Controller General of Immigration, Mohamed Shamaan Waheed, during a press conference today.
At the conference, Controller General Shamaan highlighted the positive public response to operations targeting foreign-run businesses, with significant information being shared via social media and other platforms.
He stated that Immigration Watch will consolidate these efforts, allowing the public to report cases through a single, streamlined platform.
The primary aim of Immigration Watch is to enhance community safety and provide a more efficient method for identifying and reporting illegal immigrants, fraudulent entry attempts, and other immigration-related issues.
The platform guarantees confidentiality for those reporting cases, with an option to remain anonymous.
This feature ensures that valuable information can be shared without compromising the identity of the informant.
By enabling the public to submit detailed information, including photos, Immigration Watch aims to improve the identification of serious offenders and facilitate early investigations.
This initiative represents a key step towards maintaining legal standards and safeguarding the community.
The "Immigration Watch" service is available 24/7 online at imuga.immigration.gov.mv.
Users can visit the website, select "Immigration Watch," and submit details and photos of the cases they wish to report.
